Why Sedus: A. Raymond in Lörrach - Case Study

The new building offers 8,300 square metres of space on four floors for around 250 workstations, which can be used flexibly by the 285 employees through desk sharing. With the new building, the company has optimally adapted to modern working methods. Sedus has equipped workstations, meeting rooms and spaces in between.

What were the aims of the new space design?

The primary aim of the new building was to optimise our organisational set-up for future challenges. We wanted to promote interaction between and within the organisations, stimulate creativity and provide sources of inspiration. We also wanted our company to be perceived as an attractive employer in the region, which would help us to attract new employees.

Was there a special (colour) concept for the design?

A mood board was created using associative cards and discussions during the office concept development workshops, which illustrated the colour and material scheme.

What was important to you when choosing the furnishings?

Functionality and design played an equally important role. The price-performance ratio was just as important. The result is a product mix that meets our functional requirements on the one hand, and matches in terms of colour and design on the other.

Why did you choose Sedus products?

There were different reasons for each product that I could name individually. In the case of the height-adjustable desks, the telephone booths and the storage elements between the workstations, it was the right price-performance ratio for us. With the se:fit or the turn around chairs, it was more the design or functionality that tipped the scales.

What challenges did you face during the project?

I found the biggest challenge was involving as many employees as possible. The new office concept was/is something completely new for everyone and we put a lot of effort into getting our employees on board and preparing them for it in the best possible way.

What do you personally appreciate most about the new premises?

The working atmosphere, the cosiness, the flexibility that the "clean desk principle" offers us and the many alternative working options lead to a very high level of satisfaction.

What is the feedback from employees about the new workstations?

The employees were/are very satisfied with the result. There has been a lot of appreciative and positive feedback.

What impact have the new premises had on the company?

Some employees who previously worked more from home have returned to the office without us intervening with any instructions or regulations. Most of them find the freedom and opportunities exciting and are motivated and enthusiastic about working in the new environment.

Of course, there are still some employees who prefer to always work in the same place. This is tolerated as long as it doesn't affect flexibility.

The first relocations have already taken place due to small reorganisations. This has never been as easy as it is now. Simply clear out the locker, move to another level and you're done.

We would like to thank Daniel Utz for the interview and are delighted with our successful collaboration
