How is Smart Thinking changing our working world?

How is Smart Thinking changing our working world?

In a recent workshop held in Geseke, six dedicated employees from different departments at Sedus Systems GmbH worked together in an inspiring ‘Smart Thinking’ workshop to lay the foundations for a future Sedus Academy. With passion, joy and a clear focus on innovation and collaboration, this team has spent the last four months analysing and designing the framework for the Sedus Academy.

Many interviews were conducted with colleagues and partners to determine the needs of users. The diversity of perspectives and ideas will create a rich palette of possibilities to make the Academy a centre for learning, development and creativity.

Here is an outline of what the fundamentals of the Smart Thinking approach are:

1. Increasing efficiency through technology:

Smart thinking involves the skilful use of technology to optimise work processes. Automation, artificial intelligence and data analysis can help to simplify repetitive tasks, save time and free up human resources for more demanding tasks.

2. Flexible working and virtual collaboration:

Smart thinking promotes an agile approach to work. Through the use of digital technologies, it enables a flexible way of working in which employees can collaborate from different locations. This not only promotes work-life balance, but also provides access to global talent pools.

3. Data-based decision making:

A smart mindset involves the ability to analyse data and derive informed decisions from it. In the world of work, this means that companies can make better-informed decisions based on real-time data and analysis.

4. Creativity and innovation:

Smart thinking encourages finding creative solutions to challenges. In the workplace, this means a culture of innovation where employees are encouraged to contribute new ideas and pursue alternative approaches to improve the status quo.

5. Lifelong learning and adaptability:

A smart mindset includes a willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and working methods. This promotes a culture of lifelong learning in the workplace, as employees need to constantly evolve to keep up with changing demands.

6. Improving communication:

Smart thinking often relies on effective communication. By using digital communication tools and collaborative platforms, teams can work together more efficiently, regardless of physical locations.

With all these points in mind, Sedus has developed products designed to support and simplify agile working. The areas of communication and creativity in particular are central building blocks for the current se:lab collection, which is all about providing the best possible working conditions for group work and presentations. Flexible, modular furniture adapts to different group sizes in no time at all.
