Children are our future – and yet there are many children and young people who have no chance of a happy, free life, with security, health and education. Helping them is the aim and task of the Karl Bröcker Foundation. The foundation was created following a tragic accident: Renate Bröcker, daughter of the founder of Gesika Büromöbelwerke, Karl Bröcker, was killed in a road accident and left her fortune to the foundation.
Video presents three inspiring projects
Since 2002, the Karl Bröcker Foundation has been a shareholder in Sedus Stoll AG, supporting both large-scale and small projects aimed at helping children with disabilities. These are not only physical disabilities, but also socio-psychological impairments.
Three of these projects are presented in more detail in the video:
- The play shop at the Don Bosco School, where children learn to communicate in their own way.
- Climbing for children with heart conditions, to give them the opportunity to be active with their friends and family.
- The Roncalli daycare centre for children from migrant backgrounds, where there are numerous opportunities for playing, arts and crafts, as well as language development.
Achieving great things together
For Susanne Brandherm, engineer and honorary chair of the Karl Bröcker Foundation, the happy children are the greatest motivation:
We are just happy and very proud to be able to initiate these projects. With Sedus behind us, it's just wonderful. We can achieve great things and small things together and we're really pleased about that. But what pleases us most is seeing the children happy.
