An inspiring programme and expert presentations
Our expert presentations and workshops were important programme items and provided insights into current industry trends and the latest developments in the field of office furniture. Callum Johnson, BIM expert, showed how Sedus products can be integrated into Revit to provide access to over 40 product families - a valuable tool for architects and planners. With the “Workscape of Tomorrow”, Joe McKenzie and Merle Brandt introduced visitors to future knowledge landscapes that not only provide information, but also help to identify and share individually relevant trends.
Another special feature of the event was the guided tour, which showed how modern workspaces can promote friendships and social interaction - even in hybrid working environments. One highlight was the presentation of Sinem Beaujean's award-winning speech “Workplace Besties”, which drew on true stories about the importance of friendships in everyday office life.
A party on the stand and the launch of a new podcast
Thursday evening was all about our legendary party featuring a silent disco, where the Sedus team and special guests enjoyed a relaxed and atmospheric evening together. We also had the pleasure of recording our first ever podcast in the Sedus se:cube. Interviews with prominent guests like Michael Trautmann and Bernd Fels, as well as designer Volker Eysing and other industry experts. These engaging conversations will be available for all to hear from the end of November.
Sustainability at the heart of the Sedus trade fair stand
Sedus relies on a comprehensive concept of sustainability that goes far beyond simply the use of environmentally friendly materials. Our exhibition stand this year was developed with a focus on ecological responsibility, economic efficiency and human well-being. Around 95% of the materials will be reused after the trade fair - whether by recycling rigging equipment, reusing slat walls in our offices or re-rolling and reusing fabric panels in showrooms.
The innovative interior design not only ensured less waste and lower CO₂ emissions, but also a noticeable reduction in costs. Through the targeted use of translucent fabrics, modular wall constructions and energy-efficient lighting concepts, we were able to reduce overall costs by over 35% (compared to Orgatec 2022).
Design for wellbeing and human connection
Our stand design emphasised the importance of biophilic elements, such as natural shapes, along with a harmonious colour palette, which have both been proven to promote well-being. Our lighting concept simulated the dynamics of natural light, contributing to a calming yet inspiring sense of space that reflected a connection with nature.
At Orgatec 2024, Sedus proved that sustainability and outstanding design are not mutually exclusive but can merge synergistically to create a feel-good space. Our “Design to Connect” concept has created a space that inspires and unites people - be it through the furniture itself, the social environment or the well-thought-out sustainability concept.
Thanks to everyone involved
Our sincere thanks go to everyone who contributed to the success of our Orgatec 2024 presence. Their commitment and enthusiasm made the whole event an unforgettable experience for us.
