At the end of 2022, we started the process of implementing e-charging stations for electric cars. From the presentation of ideas to the distribution of tasks and the comparison of offers, the conversion work at our headquarters in Dogern began in September.
Nature and technology in harmony
In the final stage of implementation, in October 2023, excavation work was carried out on a green area of the company premises. Some components, such as the power lines, were laid underground. A large part of the green area was affected in the process.
The head of production at Sedus therefore approached our facility management team with the idea of a flower meadow. As around 50 m² of the meadow had been dug up as a result of the work, various types of flowers could be sown in just a few steps. Facility Management decided in favour of particularly bee- and insect-friendly flower species in order to provide a large paradise for various animals to live in. Thanks to the selected flower species, the meadow will reseed itself every year, providing plenty of habitat for years to come.
The employees are delighted
The meadow has been blooming in full splendour for several weeks now and is increasingly becoming a home for bees and insects of all kinds. This has not gone unnoticed by employees and customers at the Dogern site. "The new charging points for electric vehicles and the flower meadow show how we at Sedus harmonise modern technology and nature. The project makes me proud to work here," says Niklas Flum from the Sedus sustainability team.
