High quality upholstery means the chairs are exceptionally comfortable. A wide range of options makes them the perfect all-rounder; from lounge chairs to meeting chairs and stools.

“The design of the se:café soft chair family expresses comfort and warmth,” says Falk Blümler, designer at Sedus Stoll AG. “Its proportions and dimensions are deliberately enhanced – in line with current trends in furniture design – without appearing unnaturally exaggerated. With its compassionate design and sometimes deliberately generous dimensions, the product family marks a real contrast with the predominantly rectilinear expression of modern office spaces. The Work Café concept, and the design of the chair family offer real, emotional alternatives to a typical workplace.”

Warmth and comfort

“The biggest challenge was the development of a concept that, on the one hand, supports the creation of a family of products while, at the same time, meets the requirements for specific types of chair,” says Blümler.

The upholstery of the se:café soft chair family ensures it offers a high level of comfort. The internal structure is made from recycled plastic. The cosy aesthetic is enhanced with a choice of pleated upholstery on the back rest. This range of designs and finishes means the chairs are highly adaptable, while also harmonising when used as a group. The high quality of the upholstery and its decorative stitching are particularly appealing.

“I think that the design of any seating that ignores ergonomics and comfort is out of the question – especially at Sedus, as we pay particular attention to this,” says Blümler. This is why all three versions have an integrated lumbar support.
The sloping front edge of the seat means using the chair is a relaxed and comfortable experience. The lounge chair comes with armrests as, while the chair and bar stool offer armrests as options. The se:café soft chair family is available with three leg frame variants: 4-legged wooden frame, 4-legged steel frame or skid frame. The bar stool incorporates a foot rail.
