"Successful entrepreneurial activity always requires long-term, value-orientated roots."
The founders, Emma Stoll (†2010) and Christof Stoll (†2003), established the Stoll VITA Foundation in 1985. The assets that they had transferred to the two foundations consisted mainly of the majority shareholding in today's Sedus Stoll AG. By setting up the Stoll VITA Foundation, Emma and Christof Stoll intended to both regulate the company succession of Sedus Stoll AG and to continue the focus of their lifelong commitment and attitude to life in an organisationally independent, charitable institution.
"We are committed to the environment and health as well as research and education."
The aims of the Stoll VITA Foundation include:
- Scientific research: Funding scientific work and research projects, particularly in the fields of medicine and nutritional sciences, animal and plant breeding as well as environmental protection and nature conservation
- Public health care: Financing of projects related to health and nutrition
- Education: Financing of projects that are committed to the education of children or adults
- Environmental protection and nature conservation: Funding for projects with an ecological focus
These projects have already been realised
The foundation has already implemented and supported numerous projects in these areas, e.g:
- Kinder Villa Stoll: A children's daycare centre was opened in the former home of the Stoll family in 2021.
- Seminar series at the Children's Cancer Centre: The "Emma and Christof Stoll" seminar series has been held at the Research Institute Children's Cancer Centre Hamburg since 2018. This brings clinicians and scientists together and facilitates professional dialogue.
- Tree House: The Tree House offers help for children of mentally ill and addicted parents. Here they bake before Easter, make gingerbread houses at Christmas, organise garden games in summer and always have something tasty to eat.
- Kinder-Lebens-Lauf: In 2022, the Stoll VITA Foundation was one of the main sponsors of the Kinder-Lebens-Lauf organised by the Bundesverband Kinderhospiz e.V.
- Lectures on frontotemporal dementia: Sarah Straub, who holds a doctorate in psychology from Ulm University Hospital, regularly gives lectures on frontotemporal dementia for various organisations.
- Fish mobile: In 2023, the "fish mobile" of the state fishing association made a stop at the Stoll VITA Foundation.
- REPAIR Café: Broken appliances, toys and much more can be repaired free of charge at the REPAIR Café.
- OneDollarGlasses e.V.: The foundation supports the association, e.g. in the construction of an eyeglass centre in Balaka (Malawi) or the "Basic eye care for the needy in Bolivia" project.
- Tree planting campaign in the Tiengen municipal forest: On the initiative of the foundation, more than 3,000 trees were planted in the municipal forest of the town of Waldshut-Tiengen.
