This scenario means that employers must develop brand new strategies to support their employees’ choices about where they want and need to work and how they ensure their health and wellbeing in spaces outside of the traditional corporate domain.
EVEN ALLOWING FOR ITS DRAWBACKS, THE OVERALL OPINION OF EMPLOYEES IS THAT REMOTE WORK HAS HAD A POSITIVE EFFECT ON THEIR LIVES.
At a managerial level, these challenges mean there must be a shift of perspective when it comes to the role of ergonomics.
Where once it was concerned primarily with occupational health and safety, it must now also focus on the company’s responsibility to and relationship with remote workers. It must enhance their performance regardless of where they might work. It must, in short, transform remote work into smart work.
